Legoland Debuts New Brick Or Treat Street, Halloween Treats In Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, CA — Monsters have moved into Legoland California Resort, bringing a new neighborhood, interactive experiences and Halloween-themed treats to the Carlsbad theme park.

Legoland debuted its new Brick or Treat Street over the weekend as part of its annual Brick or Treat celebration, which runs on select dates through Nov. 1. Patch got an early look at the new attraction and sampled some of this year's seasonal menu during a media preview.

Brick or Treat Street features six life-size Lego Monster houses inspired by the characters Wacky Witch, Mummy, Scarecrow, Spider Lady and Wolf Guy. Each house offers a different interactive experience, from ringing doorbells and searching for runaway frogs to encountering moving plants and helping Scarecrow frighten away a feathered visitor.

The new area also gives families a chance to encounter Lego characters, including the new Lego Skeleton Guy and Lego Wacky Witch, while exploring Halloween displays and getting festive treats.

Beyond the new neighborhood, this year's celebration comes with a lineup of limited-time food and drinks. Patch sampled several offerings during the media preview, including the Midnight Monster Burger, made with two beef patties on a black bun with nacho cheese, Takis, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and Thousand Island dressing. It is served with fries at at Satellite Bites.

Patch also tried the Monster BBQ Mash-Up Sandwich from Knights' Smokehouse BBQ. The sandwich piles pulled pork, smoked brisket and Texas sausage links onto Texas garlic toast with green slaw and Alabama barbecue sauce and is served with spicy pickles.

For dessert, the Purple Potion Shake combines ube and cookies and cream with marshmallow fluff, whipped cream, an Oreo cookie, Halloween sprinkles and a purple macaron. The shake is served in a mason jar at Castle Ice Cream.

Another seasonal take on a Legoland staple is the Pumpkin Patch Apple Fries at Granny's Apple Fries. The dessert tops the park's popular apple fries with vanilla soft serve, dulce de leche, pumpkin pie spice, graham cracker crumbles, pumpkin candy and a mini pumpkin pie, all served in a souvenir apple bowl.

Adults 21 and older can order the Harvest Moon Sangria, garnished with blackberries, dried blood orange and rosemary. The drink is available at Burger Kitchen, Knights' Smokehouse BBQ and Everything is Ramen.

Elsewhere, Brick or Treat features live entertainment and shows, costume contests, trick-or-treating, character meet-and-greets, hands-on Lego building activities and Halloween-themed attractions.

The Dragon Coaster had a seasonal makeover with the Roarsome Halloween Adventure, while young drivers can take a Halloween-themed ride at the Department of Monster Vehicles at the park's Driving School attractions. Guests can also create a Halloween-themed custom spaceship aboard Galacticoaster in Lego Galaxy, the park's newest land.

In Dino Valley, the Prehistoric Pumpkin Patch features Lego T-Rex Guy and Scarecrow, with families collecting treats and building their own Lego pumpkins. Guests can also meet Lego characters elsewhere in the park including Monster Rocker, Tiger Woman and Mummy.

The park's 17-foot Lego Halloween Tree has also returned. Made with more than 680,000 Lego bricks, the tree features twinkling lights, cobwebs, ghosts and pumpkins.

Entertainment includes "The Great Monster Chase," a 4D movie with special effects, along with returning live shows Zombie Cheer Crew, Once Upon a Brick — The Tale of the Wolf Guy and The Monster Rock Off.

Brick or Treat is designed for families with children ages 2 to 12 and is included with regular park admission.
