Light Plane Crash-Lands In North County
An airplane operated by a skydiving company crash-landed in a field near Oceanside Municipal Airport.

OCEANSIDE, CA — An airplane operated by a skydiving company crash-landed in a field near Oceanside Municipal Airport Thursday, leaving the two men aboard injured, one severely.
The single-engine Cessna 208B Caravan came down about 12:45 p.m. about a half-mile east of the general-aviation airfield near Mission Avenue and state Route 76, according to the Federal Aviation Administration and Oceanside Police Department.
After emergency crews freed the occupants of the damaged aircraft, paramedics airlifted one of them to a trauma center in critical condition and took the other to a hospital in a ground ambulance for treatment of moderately serious injuries, OPD spokeswoman Jennifer Atenza said.

The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA will investigate the accident, said Eva Lee Ngai, a public information officer for the FAA.
