Man Arrested In Deadly San Marcos House Fire
Firefighters found two people dead inside a second-floor room.
SAN MARCOS, CA — Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a house fire that killed two people in San Diego's North County.
Detectives took Luis Alvarado, 33, of San Marcos into custody Sunday on two counts of murder and arson, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. He was booked into the San Diego Central Jail.
The fire sparked around 11:45 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Lacebark Street in San Marcos. Deputies and the San Marcos Fire Department arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters found two people dead inside a second-floor room.

The Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit and Homicide Unit were investigating the cause of the fire. The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the identities of the victims and the cause and manner of death.
