Man Seriously Injured In Stabbing In Downtown Carlsbad

The suspect remains at large.

CARLSBAD, CA — A man was hospitalized with multiple stab wounds after a fight in downtown Carlsbad, and the suspect remained at large, authorities said.

Officers responded at 1:48 a.m. Sunday to a report of a stabbing in the 400 block of Grand Avenue, according to the Carlsbad Police Department. Police found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds and provided medical aid until paramedics arrived.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was being treated for serious injuries and was in stable condition, police said. His identity was not released.

Preliminary information indicates the stabbing happened during a physical altercation involving multiple people. The suspect fled before officers arrived.

No arrests have been made.
