Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With Car In North County

The 23-year-old motorcyclist was found unresponsive in the westbound lane of Montiel Road in San Marcos, officials said.

SAN MARCOS, CA — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a car in northern San Diego County, authorities said Wednesday.

Deputies responded at 5:26 p.m. Tuesday to reports that a Kawasaki ZX-10R motorcycle and a Nissan Altima had collided in the 2300 block of Montiel Road in San Marcos, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

A 23-year-old motorcyclist was found unresponsive in the westbound lane of Montiel Road. Deputies and paramedics provided life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at 5:52 p.m.

Officials said the driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The names of both the driver and motorcyclist were not released.

It was unclear if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision, according to the sheriff's office.
