VISTA, CA — A motorcyclist was seriously injured Monday in a crash with a box truck in San Diego's North County, authorities said.

The 23-year-old man was riding around 11 a.m. in the 1400 block of North Melrose Drive in Vista when his motorcycle crashed into the truck, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

"Further investigation revealed (the) box truck made a U-turn in front of the motorcycle, causing the collision," sheriff's Sgt. Eric Cottrell said.
