New Interpretive Exhibit Opens Friday At Leo Carrillo Ranch In Carlsbad
"Adobe Is My Birthstone" commemorates the 80th anniversary of Leo Carrillo's purchase of the first 845 acres of Rancho de Los Quiotes.

CARLSBAD, CA – A new interpretive exhibit opens Friday at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park in Carlsbad. "Adobe Is My Birthstone" commemorates the 80th anniversary of Leo Carrillo’s purchase of the first 845 acres of Rancho de Los Quiotes in 1937.
The public will get an opportunity to explore life at Leo Carrillo’s Rancho de los Quiotes from 1937 to 1961. The permanent exhibit features a display of handmade adobe bricks and rare large print photos of life at the ranch from the Carrillo Ranch Archives and the Huntington Library Maynard L. Parker Collection.
The exhibit opens Friday inside the Kindle Theater at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park, located at 6200 Flying Leo Carrillo Lane. Admission is free.
