San Diego International Kids' Film Festival is returning to Carlsbad

On August 25 through 27, San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival returns to Carlsbad. This year the festival is featuring films from over 30 countries. The program is full of events that are fun and educational for children and their families.

A large variety of films will be shown. Features such as “Saleem” and “The Quilt: A Living History of African American Music” showcase cultures around the world. Included in the curation are a large variety of short films, including many beautiful animations, and films made by young directors of all ages. The diversity of programming allows audiences to travel the world through the screen.

There are also several industry-led panels for aspiring filmmakers. The “Work with Asian Films Panel” will give advice on how to collaborate with Asian film industries. In the “Distribution Panel”, experts outline how to distribute and market films. The “Audition Panel” guides children and parents on auditioning for young roles.

SDIKFF will also host several guest performers. Singer Cameron Clarke will perform selections from the festival’s music contest. Mariachi Elena C. Castaneda will serenade audiences at the award ceremony. Writers shine at the Screenplay Showcase, where actors perform selections from the screenplay contest.

San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival also hosts a film market, focusing on children’s and family entertainment. Industry professionals will be in attendance. This is a great opportunity to meet with potential investors and distribute your film. All film festival selections will have a complimentary display area to promote their work.

The 2023 San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival will be held at the Carlsbad Senior Center, Schulman Auditorium, and MiraCosta College Theatre from August 25 to 27. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the official website at http://sdkidsfilms.org/Home.html.
