Join us for the virtual 2021 International Education Week Conference. Each day is
hosted by one of our Colleges. City College - November 17; Mesa College - November
16; and Miramar College - November 18.

The districtwide International Education Committee is charged with advancing student
global learning outcomes through the enhancement of international education opportunities
throughout the district including internationalization of the curriculum, study abroad,
faculty development, international partnerships, and international, global, and multicultural
events and activities on campus. International education advances learning and scholarship;
builds understanding and respect among different peoples; and enhances constructive
leadership in the global community.

Study Abroad with a Sustainability Focus10:30 to 11:30 a.m.Presenter: Professor Pablo Martin Sustainability Study Abroad: Society, Environment, Economy; Tentatively Planned for
Summer 2022, in La Ventana, Mexico. Review plans for a proposal to host a four-week
long program designed to offer students hands-on experiences in creating and maintaining
sustainable communities, service learning projects, or both. The study abroad program

Filipino Studies (FS) 100 Info Session1:30 to 2:20 p.m.Presenter: Professor Judy PatacsilProfessor Judy Patacsil will provide information on the Filipino American Experience
course. At the present time, FS100 is the only approved ethnic studies course offered
at Miramar College that meets the CSU Area F graduation requirement and Miramar is
the only college in San Diego that offers a Filipino Studies Certificate of Performance.
