Man Arrested In Mexico For Murder Of North County Woman: Police
The man suspected in the shooting death of an Oceanside woman was arrested in Mexico and brought back in custody to San Diego County.
OCEANSIDE, CA — Police Thursday report that the man suspected in the shooting death of a 22-year-old Oceanside woman was arrested in Mexico and brought back in custody to San Diego County.
Vincente Huerta, 25, was booked on Aug. 11 into the San Diego County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, felony possession of a firearm and other charges. He is not eligible for bail.
Just before noon on June 4, Oceanside Police offers responded to a call for medical aid at the corner of Bush and Archer streets. Police found the victim, 22-year-old Chelsea Pacheco, had suffered a gunshot wound to her upper body and was not breathing.

Upon further investigation, police learned that Pacheco was riding in a car with friends who became involved in an argument with Huerta, an alleged Oceanside gang member, who shot at the vehicle. One of the rounds went through the rear of the car and struck Pacheco.
