Looking for spring and summer camps? This year’s lineup includes sports, arts and science camps and other programs for kids 3 to 16. Spring break camp registration is now open and summer camp and class registration starts March 11.

Spring Break Camps Spring camps are offered April 13 to 17 to coincide with Carlsbad Unified School District’s spring break, and one additional sewing camp offered April 6 to 10 for those who attend San Marcos and Encinitas school districts. Registration is now open. Here is the full lineup.
- Sewing camp at Leo Carrillo Ranch, for kids ages 7 to 13 is for all levels. Beginners will learn the basics of how to thread machines, finish and iron seams, and how to add closures (snaps, buttons, zippers, ties), while more experienced campers can learn how to cut from a pattern and make a simple garment.
- In basketball camp at Stagecoach Community Center, kids ages 6 to 13 will learn fundamental skills to put them on the fast track to becoming a confident basketball player.
- Aquatics camp at Alga Norte Aquatic Center welcomes swimmers of all levels ages 7 to 11 for a week of group swim lessons, games, aquatic sports and fun on the giant inflatables.
- A theatre intensive camp invites kids ages 7 to 14 to join the Missoula Children’s Theatre tour team who will arrive in town with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play...except the cast. Sleeping Beauty will be coming to Carlsbad!
- Kidz/Explorer camp at Pine Avenue Community Center for kids age 5 to 13, is a well-rounded full day camp that offers sports, crafts, waterplay, fieldtrips and so much more.
Summer CampsCamp themes include art, science and exploration, sports and fitness, or traditional day camps that run all summer long. Summer camps run from June 15 through Aug. 21 for kids ages 3 to 16. Registration opens March 11 and camps are now viewable online.

Here is just a small sample of some of the camps offered this summer:
- Film Making camp, where future moguls ages 6 to 12 learn how to create a storyboard, write a screenplay and produce a film.
- Stem camps using LEGO apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering and architecture to create engineer-designed projects such as snowmobiles, towers, catapults, battle tracks and more for kids ages 5-10.
- Junior Zoo Keeper, where future animal stewards ages 6 to 12 learn about all types of mammals, reptiles, birds and bugs; build habitats, prepare diets and meet live animal friends.
- American Girl camp will have fans ages 6 to 12 making doll jewelry and accessories, and cooking desserts for tea and pajama parties as they learn about doll heritage.
- Mysteries of Magic, where budding magicians ages 6 to 12 learn new tricks that will amaze family and friends.
- In an Anna & Elsa Princess Dance Journey, dancers ages 3 to 7 will embark on an arctic adventure inspired by the latest soundtrack. Through dance routines, crafts and games, dancers will experience many of their favorite Disney characters.
- Top Chef Camp, where novice chefs ages 6 to 12 will learn how to make several delicious and fun dishes. This camp features delectable competitions with plenty of challenges. Menus are prepared and the restaurant is open at the end of the week for family and friends.
