A 16-year-old male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, Calderwood said. The seven other teens were taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries ranging from minor to serious. The ages of the other victims were not immediately available.
"The preliminary investigation shows that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision, but the investigation is still underway," Calderwood said.
