TGIF Concerts In The Parks To Kick Off Friday In Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, CA — TGIF Concerts in the Parks kicks off Friday in Carlsbad. The summer concert series takes place Fridays through Aug. 11 at community parks in the city.

Band Overboard, a Point Loma group with a classic soft rock sound, will take the stage Friday at Stagecoach Community Park.

The field opens at 4 p.m. and the concert starts at 6 p.m. at 3420 Camino De Los Coches.

Free parking is available at La Costa Canyon High School and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Camino De Los Coches.

Originally known as TGIF Jazz in the Parks, TGIF Concerts in the Parks is celebrating its 36th season. There are six concerts scheduled this summer.

The July lineup includes B.I.G. on July 14 at Stagecoach Community Park, Young Guns on July 21 at Poinsettia Community Park, and Jungle Fire on July 28 at Calavera Hills Community Park. The August lineup includes Betamaxx on Aug. 4 and The FABBA Show on Aug. 11. Both take place at Alga Norte Community Park.
