Tips Sought In Drive-By Shooting At North County Restaurant

VISTA, CA — Authorities asked for the public's help Wednesday in identifying a suspect or suspects who fled after a shooting at a Vista restaurant.

Deputies responded shortly before 7:30 p.m. Aug. 15 to the 400 block of Vista Village Drive for a report of a possible drive-by shooting, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. Investigators said shots were fired toward the 2N1 Korean BBQ restaurant from a passing vehicle.

A man was struck by gunfire and treated at the scene for a non-life-threatening injury. A bullet also struck and entered a window of the restaurant.

"Detectives say they believe the gunshot originated from a passing vehicle," sheriff's Lt. Nick Backouris said. "They are requesting any assistance from the public in locating any additional witnesses, video or other evidence related to this shooting."

Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
