1 Injured In Castro Valley Fire

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — One man was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and a minor burn injury following a house fire in Castro Valley Sunday night, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.
Flames were shooting out of the the second floor when firefighters arrived between 10:30 and 11 p.m. The home is on the 4900 block of Buti Park Drive.
The 1-alarm fire was contained to an upstairs bedroom within 15 minutes of firefighters arriving at the scene.

The cause of the fire was improper disposal of smoking materials.
The Red Cross responded to assist with temporary shelter for two adults and 1 small dog.
