1st United Continues to Support the Alameda County Community Food Bank
Our continued partnership strengthens our commitment to the community
1st United Credit Union is proud to be the Official Donation Location of the Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB) drive host for the third consecutive year. Our members and the community can continue to drop off food donations at any 1st United branch.
According to ACCFB, the need for food continues to increase, with 1 in 4 residents experiencing food insecurity. Last year the food bank distributed over 60 million pounds of food, which was the highest distribution in history. With the rising cost of living, food banks are challenged to keep up with the need and are also facing budget cuts.
We collected 22,835 pounds of food and donated $10,000 to the food bank which will provide an estimated 39,000 meals for those in need. We thank all our staff, members, and the community for their support. 1st United encourages the community to get involved.
