HAYWARD, CA — Police say they are investigating a crash in Hayward that left a bicyclist dead early Monday morning.
It's unclear what led up to the crash. It happened just after midnight at the intersection of Harder and Soto roads, according to the Hayward Police Department.
There, officers found the 62-year-old cyclist, identified only as a man, with injuries from the collision, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, police said.
The driver, a 52-year-old Hayward man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said. His identity was not released.
Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, police said.
The case remains under investigation, police said. The Hayward Police Department asked that anyone with more information on the crash contact the agency at 510-293-7066.
