CASTRO VALLEY, CA — The owner of a cash-for-gold store in Castro Valley was accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting his employee, according to a report from The Mercury News.
Prosecutors say Reginald Smith, 62, owner of Family Cash 4 Gold in Castro Valley, was caught on surveillance footage flirting with an employee at the store on Thursday, Aug. 20, according to the report.
But when his advances were rebuffed, Smith slammed the man into a door, threw him on the floor, blocked the exit, and dragged him into a bedroom, while the man screamed, "You said you wouldn't hurt me," according to the report.
Smith, a registered sex offender for a 2001 conviction of molesting a child, was charged with kidnapping to commit a sex crime, forcible oral copulation, and another sexual assault in connection with the incident, according to the report.
