Join us at the 2026 Blessing of the Animals at the United Methodist Church of Castro Valley in honor of our animal family members and special blessings for all our beloved pets!
Inspired by Saint Francis, the patron saint of animals and the environment, this event celebrates the bond between humans and animals and invokes God's blessing for their health and well-being.
It will be held at the Wisteria Street on the front lawn with your pets of all shapes and sizes to receive a special blessing - we've seen turtles, dogs, cats and parrots! Please keep your companions on leash or in their carrier. If your companion has recently crossed the rainbow bridge or they cannot travel, feel free to bring their photo for our altar.
Let's celebrate the joy and love our animal companions bring to our lives! And the Blessing of the Animals will be on Sat. October 10, 2026, 11:00 - 12:00.
