“The Castro Valley Area of the California Highway Patrol will ensure every available officer is working on the road on Labor Day weekend with the goal of providing indispensable safety, service, and security for the public. The CHP recommends that
drivers use a designated driver, wear a seatbelt, and avoid distractions. We urge drivers to observe the speed limit and do not drive while fatigued. Safety on California’s roadways is the CHP’s primary focus. Our goal is to see that the public safely get to their destination.”
Extra CHP officers will be on patrol because of a traffic safety grant funded by California Office of Traffic Safety and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
