Son Fatally Stabs Father While Intervening In Parent's Fight In East Bay: Report

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — A 20-year-old man is accused of stabbing his father to death while intervening in a fight between his parents Saturday afternoon in Castro Valley, according to multiple news reports.

A KTVU report suggests the 20-year-old's father and mother were at their home in the 18000 block of Parsons Avenue around 1:30 p.m. when a fight broke out between them.

Deputies say the 20-year-old heard his mother in distress and intervened, fatally stabbing his father in the process, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The suspect's name or his father's was not immedietly released. It's unclear whether the suspect or his mother were injured during the fight.

Officers responded to a family disturbance call at the residence and found the father with stab wounds, according to KTVU.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to KTVU.
