Eater SF writes, "You might not expect one of the East Bay’s most exciting pop-ups to be run out of a Moose Lodge in Castro Valley, but Hermanos Verdes has hit on a winning formula. Chefs Mikey Ochoa and Gustavo Villarroel combine their respective Mexican and Venezuelan cultural backgrounds and fine dining pedigrees to create one of the region’s most thrilling new menus: pork chile verde and barbacoa tacos, breakfast arepas, a take on jook with Mexican flavors, and cachapas (sweet corn pancakes) loaded with ham and cheese."
The Doucet Saloon is at 20710 Rutledge Road in Castro Valley. Hermanos Verdes will serve their creations from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
