Castro Valley School Makes U.S. News Rankings 2016 Best High Schools

Castro Valley High School made the list for Top Schools in California.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA - Castro Valley High is ranked the 308th best high school in California by the prestigious US News and World Reports 2016 rankings.

The school was singled out because "Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement coursework and exams. The AP participation rate at Castro Valley High is 37 percent. The student body makeup is 49 percent male and 51 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 69 percent. Castro Valley High is 1 of 2 high schools in the Castro Valley Unified.”

The other high school in Castro Valley is not ranked.

"The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia," states U.S. News & World Report. "Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college."

The report includes information about curriculum, test scores and student demographics.
