Castro Valley Teacher of the Year, Classified Employees of the Year
Who is being honored from your child's school?
CASTRO VALLEY, CA — Each year the Castro Valley Unified School District selects one teacher as the CVUSD’s Alameda County Teacher of the Year and two teachers as the Masonic Teachers of the Year.
Nancy Galloway, the Physical Education Teacher at Jensen Ranch Elementary School, has been selected as CVUSD’s Alameda County Teacher of the Year.

Jessica Labang from Chabot Elementary School and Diane De Young from Canyon Middle School have been selected as the Masonic Teachers of the Year.
Teachers nominated for these awards demonstrate outstanding service to students and their school community and display exemplary leadership in supporting a positive school climate. Teachers are nominated by their peers and a district committee makes the final selection.

Every year the Castro Valley Unified School District employees nominate five classified employees as Classified Employees of the Year.
The Classified School Employee of the Year Program sponsored by the California Department of Education highlights the contributions of classified school employees who support the education of California’s public school students. The program’s goals are to identify five exemplary classified school employees throughout California for recognition. The five categories include: Child Nutrition; Maintenance, Operations and Facilities; Office and Technical; Para-Educator and Instructional Assistance; Support Services and Security; and Transportation.

The Board of Education will be recognizing the selected Teachers of the Year, nominees, and the Classified Employees of the Year at its board meeting on May 11th.
