Castro Valley's 'Boulevard Bucks' to Save the Day, and Save You Money
The introduction of Boulevard Bucks makes it easy to support both the public schools and the downtown merchants who are at risk of going out of business on Castro Valley Boulevard.
This green coupon will make it easier for you to save money in downtown Castro Valley and — more importantly — to help save the downtown itself.
"Boulevard Bucks" will soon be available as part of a marketing campaign expected to begin on Monday, Oct. 10. A companion program that supports public schools begins on Thursday, Oct. 13.
Stay tuned for more details over the next couple of weeks, when a new "Shop the Boulevard" website will be unveiled and Boulevard Bucks will become available online and at participating merchants.

The marketing campaign — a collaboration among civic groups, the and the — is a reponse to the once began last October on Castro Valley Boulevard. Eventually, the boulevard will be beautiful, once the county completes a intended to make the area more inviting.

Thursday Dine Out supports local schools through Save Our Schools Castro Valley!, which has raised more $55,000 since May 2009, counting in-kind donations of services as well as cash donations. The donations help offset that the Castro Valley Unified School District has suffered over three years through .
“Participating Restaurants” (see list below) are offering to give 10 percent to 20 percent of your bill to SOSCV! when you present your "Boulevard Buck" voucher at breakfast, lunch or dinner on Thursdays.
You can also win a $20 gift certificate in the monthly Boulevard Buck drawing run by the Castro Valley Rotary Club from any participating merchant. Simply fill in the drawing information on the Boulevard Buck and drop it in the Boulevard Buck container.
Thursdays are designated for schools support. On the other six days of the week, diners and shoppers get a discount simply as a "thank you" for shopping locally.
