Chabot runners sizzle at Hartnell Invitational
Reece Proctor takes individual title in 4-mile race, team finishes second
The Chabot men’s cross country team had a fantastic showing at the Hartnell Toro Park Invitational on Sept. 30, with four competitors in the top 12 headed by individual champion Reece Proctor.
Chabot finished second in the team standings with 47 points, two points ahead of third-place Clovis CC and 10 points behind Hartnell.
Proctor, a freshman, completed the 4-mile run in 21 minutes, 07.7 seconds, 13 seconds faster than runner-up Chris Watkins of Clovis CC. Chabot sophomores Sebastian Andersson (21:30.9) and Thomas Gallagher (21:36.6) were fourth and fifth in the five-team meet. Sophomore Lucas Vigil was 12th (22:08.4). Sophomore Owen Johnson rounded out Chabot’s top five in 34th (23:43.8).

Chabot coach Kyle Robinson was thrilled with the Gladiators’ effort in the very tactical race, noting that Proctor impressively ran the final 2 miles in 9:46.
On the women’s side, Chabot was paced by sophomore Lilianna Lopez, who finished 17th (22:56.3) in the 3-mile race. Freshman Chunyan Lin was 23rd (23:41.0), Yesenia Guerrero was 32nd (26.29.4) and Jennifer Avila was 35th (28:01.6).
