Cold Case Murder: New Photos Released

The Alameda County Sheriff's Office hopes someone recognizes the man or his car.

HAYWARD, CA — The Alameda County Sheriff's Office released new digital surveillance photos this week in an effort to get the public's help in solving a homicide that occurred in unincorporated Hayward a year ago.

Sheriff's deputies who responded to a report of a shooting in the 2100 block of Hill Avenue at about 10:20 p.m. on July 8, 2017, found 19-year-old Manuel Romero suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and he was
pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Sheriff's officials said they believe the suspects in the fatal shooting fled in a Toyota Yaris made between 2012 and 2014 that had rear tinted windows.
