Driver in Pickup Shot While Sitting at Intersection; Suspect Detained
A female accomplice and the murder weapon are being sought. Multiple streets are closed in the area because of the investigation.

Alameda County, CA - Alameda County sheriff's deputies have arrested one suspect in the fatal shooting of a man stopped at an intersection in Cherryland this afternoon, a sheriff's spokesman said.
We have a suspect in custody for the homicide on Meekland and Blossom. We can't release any victim/suspects details at this time.

The victim was stopped in his red Dodge pickup truck on southbound Meekland Avenue while waiting to make a left turn onto Blossom Hill Road when a gunman approached and shot him at about 1 p.m., sheriff's Sgt. Ray Kelly said.
The suspect fled on foot down nearby railroad tracks.

Deputies responded and shut down the intersection, where the victim was pronounced dead.
Sheriff's deputies set up a perimeter and used dogs and a helicopter to search for the suspect. They continue to look for his gun and a female accomplice, who dropped him off before the shooting.
