East Bay Anti-War Protests Thursday

Rallies are planned in at least 5 East Bay cities, organized by liberal advocacy groups Move On and Indivisible.

EAST BAY, CA — Protesters are expected to take to the streets of five East Bay cities Thursday evening to rally against the possibility of the U.S. entering into a war with Iran.

The rallies come days after the U.S. airstrike on Iran that killed Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani. In retaliation Iran attacked two U.S. military bases in Iraq.

"The devastation that a war with Iran could bring upon the earth and humanity cannot be overstated—millions of lives hang in the balance," organizers said online. As of Wednesday morning, 245 protests had been organized, according to the rally's website.
