Elderly Man From Hesperian Blvd. Area Located

UPDATE: Kenneth Krantz, 84, suffers from dementia and was reported missing.

HAYWARD, CA – An elderly man reported missing in Hayward Thursday was found this morning by patrol officers, police said.

Kenneth Krantz, 84, who suffers from dementia, was last reportedly seen Thursday morning possibly heading to Costco on Hesperian Boulevard near Industrial Boulevard, according to the Hayward Police Department.

"Fortunately our patrol officers found Mr. Krantz," the department said. "Thank you to everyone for your assistance."

The Hayward Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating an elderly, at-risk man, who last was reported seen Thursday morning in the area of Hesperian Boulevard.

Kenneth Krantz, 84, suffers from dementia and is described as bald, 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 145 pounds. He has a tattoo of a cross on his right arm and was last seen wearing a green baseball hat, a gray, long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

At about 9 a.m. Thursday, Krantz left his residence near Hesperian and Industrial boulevards and believed by his family to possibly have been walking to Costco at 28505 Hesperian, police said.

Anyone with information on Krantz or his whereabouts is asked to call Hayward police at 510-293-7000 or your local police department, and reference Case No. 2018-60356.
