The event will feature a panel of women--local journalist and author Fariba Nawa (Opium Nation), local Afghan community organizer Humaira Ghilzai, Heidi Kuhn CEO of Roots of Peace landmine eradication--moderated by Channel 7 News Anchor Cheryl Jennings, who has a personal interest in Afghanistan.

The Hayward-Ghazni Sister City Committee is a small, growing organization of ordinary Americans living in Hayward and the Northern California Bay Area. HGSCC invites you to join us as we accomplish Person to Person Diplomacy and International Aid. Some members have traveled to Afghanistan, and we have hosted visitors from there as well. We have ongoing Widows Literacy Classes in Ghazni, and we have also provided a blood storage refrigerator to their hospital and a sizeable list of sporting equipment as requested by Ghazni's Mayor. Our regular meetings for 2012 are the first Wednesday of each month except for July (11th instead of the 4th) and no meeting in August. We meet at 7PM on the 4th floor of City Hall.
