The women and children who come to Shepherd’s Gate are seeking to start a new life. They are able shop for free at the thrift store for clothes for job interviews and school as well as items to furnish a new place to live after graduation. Proceeds from the thrift store directly support the women and children at Shepherd’s Gate by providing care, safety, education and encouragement as they rebuild their lives. Help restore dunes by removing invasive species and planting natives while learning about the unique dune plants that live on the edge of the Bay. Gloves and snacks will be provided for volunteers.  The event takes place at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park,  a 38-acre shoreline park built by the Port of Oakland and operated by the East Bay Regional Park District.

Help restore dunes by removing invasive species and planting natives while learning about the unique dune plants that live on the edge of the Bay.
