Flag Retirement

Flag Retirement Ceremony to be held at Moose Lodge

With the upcoming holidays approaching most of us wonder
what to do with our old tired and weary American flags? The Veterans of VFW
Post 9601, American legion Post 649, Boy Scout troops 789, and 726, along with
the Castro Valley Moose Lodge will be hosting its annual Flag Retirement
Ceremony for the general public on Saturday June 30th, 2012 at the
Castro Valley Moose Lodge located at 20835 Rutledge Road from 4-9 pm.

We encourage the public to bring their old flags and be part
of a very moving ceremony as the Boy Scouts show proper respect for our country’s
flag and how they are to be retired. Along with the program there will be “The
Heroes of 76” showing the history of our flag.
