Flight to Freedom Celebration

Relax under the oaks and enjoy excellent wine, beer, coffee and food along with live music by The Red Shoes.  .  As the highlight of the evening, three young Great-horned Owls will be released, making their first “flight to freedom.” The owlets were each brought separately to Sulphur Creek Nature Center’s wildlife hospital, where they thrived under the Center’s expert care. Now, fully grown and healthy, they are ready to spread their wings and live wild and free.  Help us celebrate this first flight.  There will also be behind the scenes tours, live animal presentations and a silent auction.  Must be 21 to attend.  Contributors include: Buffalo Bill's Brew Pub, Owl Ridge Wines, Phoenix Glass, Thomas Coyne Winery, Westover Vineyars, Choinard Winery & Fenestra Winery.  Sponsered by the Bay Area Mustang Association.  Presented by Hayward Area Recreation and Park District.  All proceeds will help fund the wildlife programs of Sulphur Creek Nature Center.
