In this 12-week course, traditional classroom instruction is offered one evening each week with an additional evening for lab practice. Students will be introduced to the language of medicine and will gain an understanding of basic elements, rules of building and analyzing medical words and terms associated with the body as a whole. Utilizing a systems approach, the student will define, interpret, and pronounce medical terms relating to structure and function, pathology, and pharmacology. A competency-based certificate is awarded upon successful completion.This course qualifies to earn credit with Chabot and Las Positas Colleges.
NOTE: The Medical Terminology and Anatomy& Physiology courses are synchronized so that students gain a comprehensive and coordinated program of study when taken together. Courses can be taken separately or concurrently. Students who enroll in both hybrid courses at the same time will receive a 20% discount.
