Healthy range of motion and balanced muscle development in the hip joints is essential for walking, standing, sitting and yes, yoga! In this workshop we’ll explore the anatomy of the hip joint, its movements, healthy alignment, and practice Asana to cultivate balanced flexibility and strength. All workshops are appropriate for teachers and students with at least one year of consistent practice. CEC’s are available through Yoga Alliance. Please bring pen & paper and your favorite anatomy book should you have one.
Ada Lusardi began her practice of yoga and meditation over 15 years ago as an organic progression from her work as a professional dancer and Pilates instructor, and a path to healing career-related injuries. A graduate of the Advanced Studies Program at the Yoga Room in Berkeley, she offers students of all levels and life stages a challenging yet accessible practice in which body and breath are explored incrementally to facilitate deepening awareness, openness, strengthening and healing. A self-professed “anatomy geek”, she leads classes and retreats throughout California's Bay Area and more recently in Portland, Oregon.
