Firefighters Put Out Brush Fire Along Interstate 580
Smoke was billowing over the side of the highway, until firefighters got the upper hand.

Oakland firefighters extinguished bushes and trees burning just off of Interstate Highway 580 in West Oakland this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fire was reported at about 3 p.m. to the right of the eastbound lanes of the freeway near San Pablo Avenue, CHP officials said.
Smoke could be seen billowing over the side of the highway.

Oakland firefighters responded to put the fire out and had it extinguished by 3:21 p.m.
