Your donations of gently used clothing, shoes or household items to the Shepherd’s Gate New Life Thrift Store in Livermore will do more than make room in your home — you’re giving those items a second chance to be useful and meaningful. The women and children who come to Shepherd’s Gate are seeking to start a new life. They are able shop for free at the thrift store for clothes for job interviews and school as well as items to furnish a new place to live after graduation. Proceeds from the thrift store directly support the women and children at Shepherd’s Gate by providing care, safety, education and encouragement as they rebuild their lives. Children are invited to come to the San Lorenzo Library December 12 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and make holiday crafts which they can take home with them. Members of the library's children's staff will be present and provide instructions and materials for youngsters to create snowmen and trees. No advance registration is required and the event is free. The library is located at 395 Paseo Grande, San Lorenzo. For more information call 510-670-6283.

In celebration of our nation’s 250th birthday, the Dublin Historical Society has launched a project to collect memories of life in Dublin, California back in the day during the Bicentennial in 1976. We invite the public to share their photos, news clippings, letters, journal entries, maps, or other objects - from Dublin, 1976 - that can be digitized for our online storytelling exhibit and archives. 
This effort aims to explore not only how Dublin, California residents celebrated America’s 200th birthday, but also how they lived in 1976. Through your own photographs and souvenirs, we’ll get a perspective of Dublin’s social, cultural, military, and business history - what it meant to be a Dubliner fifty years ago. 
This event kicks off the Dublin Historical Society’s new digital archiving project using new software that will allow current and future generations to come to view our collection. You will receive a digital copy of your contribution(s) to this archive.
Please visit us on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, in the Dublin Library’s Community Room
from 10am to 2pm to help us create this online archive, a legacy for generations to come.
