'Glow in the Park' Event Draws More Than 50
The event and others like it aim to shine a light on the importance of after school activities.
Thursday night’s “Glow in the Park” event brought more than 50 people together in support of after school programs.
“It was very successful — we had 50 to 75 people show up,” said Roy Terry, one of the organizers of the event.
Supporters gathered at Jack Holland Sr. Skatepark (E. 14th and 163 Avenue in San Leandro) at 6:30 p.m. to meet local leaders and use glow sticks to light up the park. The event and others like it aim to shine a light on the importance of after school activities.

The event was sponsored by the Alameda County Deputy Sheriffs' Activities League, , and the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District.
