Hayward Police Searching for Suspect in Kidnapping Attempt

Hayward police say they are investigating an attempted kidnapping of a juvenile female that occurred this afternoon. The girl was walking in the 24000 block of Whitman Avenue just after 4 p.m. today when the attempted kidnapping occurred, police said.

The girl got away and is with her family, according to police. The suspect is described as a white male adult wearing a gray Nike shirt, black shorts, orange socks and Nike sandals. His vehicle is described as a newer model white four-door Honda Civic with a light-blue dealer plate on the rear.
