Man Arrested After Woman's Body Found Near Lake Chabot

The suspect is just 19-years-old. The woman's name has been released by family.

LAKE CHABOT — A homicide investigation is underway today following the discovery of a woman's body this morning and the arrest of a suspect, East Bay Regional Park District police said.

Anthony Pimentel, 19, was arrested on suspicion of killing the woman after he allegedly admitted to it, park district police Lt. David Phulps said.

Police said family members close to Pimentel gave them information that has led investigators to believe the body is of 18-year-old Mariah Davis.

Davis's family also believe the body belongs to Mariah.

The Alameda County Sheriff's Office will officially confirm the identity of the person Tuesday.

Police from the park district and San Leandro responded at about 3:30 a.m. today to the area near Lake Chabot Dam on East Bay Municipal Utility District property where the body was discovered.

Anyone with information about the death is asked to call park district police at (510) 881-1833.
