Vangie presided over our June 5, 2014 meeting. The theme was "Keeping the Commitment: In Memory of Maya Angelou."
Pam Z. gave her second speech, introducing us to "Cloud Computing." Sarah followed with a multimedia presentation on "The 6 6 9," a story of an entrepreneur who fought he had failed to save the lives of many Jewish children from extermination at the hands of the Germans in World War II, only to find out very late in life that he had succeeded. Julie finished the prepared speeches with her second speech, "When in Drought, Get Informed", which told us a lot of things we didn't know about the current drought and ways to save water.
Joel led the Table Topics portion of the meeting with some thought provoking questions related to keeping commitments. Eugenia, Pam S. and Fred gave the speech evaluations and we called it a night.
The next meeting will be at Carrows in Castro Valley on June 19 at 7 p.m. We invite you to join us for dinner in the back room any time after 6 and then stay for the meeting.
