They are able shop for free at the thrift store for clothes for job interviews and school as well as items to furnish a new place to live after graduation. Proceeds from the thrift store directly support the women and children at Shepherd’s Gate by providing care, safety, education and encouragement as they rebuild their lives. CASTRO VALLEY, CA — PG&amp;E has fully resolved a large power outage in Castro Valley that initially impacted 730 customers. The trouble was damaged equipment on a power pole. Crews restored most power within two hours. For an unfortunate few, it electricity was out for five and a half hours. CASTRO VALLEY, CA — PG&amp;E has fully resolved a large power outage in Castro Valley that initially impacted 730 customers. The trouble was damaged equipment on a power pole.

Crews restored most power within two hours. For an unfortunate few, it electricity was out for five and a half hours. The outage was reported at 12:23 p.m. Everything was fixed at 5:53 p.m.

It took a full five and a half hours to fully restore electricity to all customers.

In celebration of our nation’s 250th birthday, the Dublin Historical Society has launched a project to collect memories of life in Dublin, California back in the day during the Bicentennial in 1976. We invite the public to share their photos, news clippings, letters, journal entries, maps, or other objects - from Dublin, 1976 - that can be digitized for our online storytelling exhibit and archives. 
This effort aims to explore not only how Dublin, California residents celebrated America’s 200th birthday, but also how they lived in 1976. Through your own photographs and souvenirs, we’ll get a perspective of Dublin’s social, cultural, military, and business history - what it meant to be a Dubliner fifty years ago. 
This event kicks off the Dublin Historical Society’s new digital archiving project using new software that will allow current and future generations to come to view our collection. You will receive a digital copy of your contribution(s) to this archive.
Please visit us on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, in the Dublin Library’s Community Room
from 10am to 2pm to help us create this online archive, a legacy for generations to come.
