Las Positas Guard Jalen Patterson Signs with Chadron State
Former Liberty Ranch High-Galt star gains full scholarship with Nebraska college after an outstanding 2022-23 season with the Hawks.
Las Positas College guard Jalen Patterson is going to miss flying with these Hawks.
The dynamic sophomore signed with Division II Chadron State College in Nebraska, after putting his heart and soul into the Las Positas program for one season.
“I appreciate everyone at LPC, they took me in like family,” Patterson said on Thursday, June 1. “I’m gonna miss my teammates and I think we built a bond that’ll last a long time, even though we didn’t reach our goal of getting a ring.”

The 6-foot-1 playmaker clearly enjoyed the fit at Las Positas. He was joined by family, friends, teammates and college staff at a signing ceremony on campus.
“I will forever love this team and program,” Patterson said. “I will also like to thank Coach James and Coach Ant (Anthony Haskett) for everything and pushing me to be the best player on the court and man off the court.”
He received a full scholarship at Chadron State, which competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
“Going to Chadron State is just one step closer to my goal of playing professionally and getting paid to play the game I love. I’m ready to work and give them everything I have!” Patterson said.
Patterson joins Jordahn Johnson (UT Permian Basin) and Jaden Phillips (Bellevue University) as Hawks to sign recently.
