Local Firefighters Arrive In Butte County To Fight Wildfire

They are part of a strike team deployed to fight the monster fire that had people running for their lives.

BUTTE COUNTY, CA — Firefighters from Fremont, Hayward, Oakland and Alameda County arrived in Butte County Thursday afternoon to fight the Camp Fire, which started this morning and exploded into a 20,000 acre monster that has reportedly burned hundreds of structures including homes and a hospital.

The firefighters are part of OES Strike Team 2870C, assigned by the California Office of Emergency Services.

Multiple towns have been evacuated, and dozens of injuries are reported.
