Man Shot, Killed Sunday Morning Identified as Hayward Man

The fatal shooting occurred in Oakland's Laurel District on Sunday morning

OAKLAND, CA: A man shot and killed while in a home in Oakland’s Laurel District on Sunday morning was identified by police today as a 20-year-old Hayward man. Daniel Gibson was shot and killed in the 3600 block of Brown Avenue at 10:11 a.m., police said.

He was hit by gunfire when someone on the street fired into a home there, according to police. Gibson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police released no information about a possible motive or suspects in the shooting. The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting has been asked to contact the Oakland police homicide section at (510) 238-3821.
