One Resident Injured In Castro Valley Fire

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — One person was taken to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation following a fire in Castro Valley Monday evening.
The fire was reported at 6:57 p.m. on the 19000 block of Carlton Avenue, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.
Smoke and flames were coming through the roof when firefighters arrived.

All of the residents escaped the home before firefighters arrived. The firefighters saved two dogs from the blaze and attempted to resuscitate a bird.

The one-alarm fire did not spread to nearby homes. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
