Teachers in San Lorenzo to Picket This Morning
The teachers will be out at Washington Manor Middle School distributing leaflets.
Frustrated teachers in the San Lorenzo Unified School District will picket and leaflet before school starts TODAY, Thursday, May 29, to again pressure the district for a fair contract settlement that invests in educators and students. Several schools will have protests.
The district refuses to invest its $22 million windfall from the state’s Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) in teachers and programs.
“The San Lorenzo Unified School District is refusing to invest in teachers or students,” Pinkney said. “The district's decision not to use $22 million in new LCFF money on competitive salaries, lower class sizes, and improved support services for students is inexplicable.”
