Volunteers Wanted at Eden Medical Center
Volunteers help patients, visitors and caregivers at the hospital

Eden Medical Center is looking for volunteers who want to help and are available to volunteer at least once a week during flexible hours.
Eden, part of the Sutter Health not-for-profit integrated network of care, recognizes the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to build stronger communities by lending their time, talent and voice to make a difference in the lives of patients, visitors and caregivers.
Volunteers at Eden perform myriad duties to help patients, visitors and caregivers at the hospital. Volunteers work in the gift shop, fill the hospital’s hygiene stations, run errands for various departments, put together the welcome bags for every patient who checks into the hospital, and escort patients and visitors to Registration from the Lobby. They also help with patient discharges, including sending off the families of newborns.

Auxiliary volunteers at Eden benefit from six weeks shadowing another volunteer. After three to four months, volunteers are eligible to perform Family Support in which they can volunteer in the Emergency Department helping patients’ family and friends. Eden also offers a patient support group that allows volunteers the opportunity to talk or read to the patients.
Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and be willing to commit to at least one year of service performing one four-hour shift per week, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. To apply, or for more information, contact Eden’s Auxiliary at (510) 727-3080.
