WATCH: Motorcyclist Rescued After Fall Down Embankment

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — A man was rescued Saturday afternoon after losing control of his motorcycle and falling down a 60-foot embankment near Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park, authorities said.

Authorities responded around 3:30 p.m. Saturday to reports of the accident, near the intersection of Redwood and Pinehurst roads, Alameda County Fire spokesman Brian Centoni told Patch.

Once there, crews had to perform a complicated rescue by belaying a firefighter down the hill and pulling the patient back up in a rescue basket, Centoni said.

The man suffered moderate injuries, including lower back pain, and was taken to Eden Medical Center.
